Coaching is focused on concrete problem-solving in the here and now. While I draw on my experience as a licensed mental health counselor in our work together, coaching is not intended to address mental health symptoms or treat mental illness, and working with me as a coach does not establish a therapeutic relationship. Coaching is often an adjunct to doing therapy, and many folks with autism, ADHD, OCD, anxiety, and depression seek executive functioning coaching as an additional, non-clinical tool to support their well-being. If in our work together I believe your needs would be better met by working with a therapist, prescriber, or other healthcare professional, I’ll discuss that with you and we can figure out a plan to get you connected with any additional recommended supports.

Individual coaching sessions can be done virtually or in person.
For the deep dive coaching packing, while our first and third sessions can easily be done virtually, the second is ideally an in person meeting so we can get hands on with various tools and strategies.
We can meet in my office or in a mutually convenient “third space” like the library or a local coffee shop. Meeting spots outside a 3 mile radius of my home base in Boston will incur an extra fee to cover travel expenses.

A big part of the deep-dive coaching package is the opportunity to experiment with what we talk about in real life! Practicing techniques we’ve discussed between sessions gives us more information and more chances to identify roadblocks and possible ways forward. After a coaching intensive, you’ll have a clear idea of specific roadblocks and a detailed set of personalized options to continue experimenting with and refining.
Individual coaching sessions will typically include ideas for things to notice, track, and practice going forward. The specifics will depend on what topics you want to address or projects you’d like to work on.

Our sessions should give you a clear idea of things to practice or try between sessions, but everyone needs a little bit of extra encouragement or problem-solving from time to time. I’m available by email and text between sessions for quick check-ins to help you stay on track.

Two big things!
First, my coaching is informed by my experience as a licensed mental health counselor with a master’s in counseling psychology. Coaches’ qualifications vary widely, and while coaching is different from therapy, experience in the mental health field brings rigor and depth to my work.
Second, I specialize in integrating a strong analog component alongside digital tools. A multisensory approach means more pathways to memory and habit-building using the brain’s inbuilt organizational systems. It can also make things more fun, and fun is motivating and helps with attention! You don’t have to be especially creative to benefit from this, but creative types often especially enjoy diving into this part.
